You don’t have to read further than this line. All necessary details have been given above. Below is the part of a previous transcript.

For all those who read this link and didn’t understand jack listen up!

The document talks about first and second PUC model question paper and blue print and how  the new so called “Single Window System” is going to be implemented for the state of Karnataka. The organizations like COBSC and NCERT have had a joint implementation and have played an equal part in this.

What is discussed here in this article is applicable to 2013-2014. Just don’t fringe and read ahead.

PUC Blown Up Syllabus

The changes will affect the following PUC branches i.e. Arts, Science, PCMB Mathematics Geo and Home Science. The PU boards states that the changes where made on the basis of advice from experts and also previous year’s textbooks to create this syllabus. As we already know each subject is for 100 marks. But the partition has changed quite drastically.

For Everyone:

Marks to obtain to atleast obtain an Exemption Grade

Min  marks for all subjects =  30 marks
Min marks for languages = 35 marks

French Students:

Theory = 80 marks (Min 24)
Oral Marks = 20 marks (Min 6)

Hindustani Music:

Theory = 40 (Min 10)
Oral Marks = 60 (Min 20)

Biology Students:

Apart from PCB, for other core subject i.e. Electronics or Mathematics or Home Science the division of the marks is as follows.

Theory = 70 marks (Min 21)
Other = 30 marks (Min 14)

If your absent in pracs or you don’t pass there is no second chance.

Division of 30 Marks of Practicals
Practicals = 20 marks
Viva = 4 marks
Record = 6 marks

Note on Practicals: Each practical exam will be held for 2 hours. There is going to be 1 external invigilator and  one internal invigilator. The viva will be conducted by the external invigilator.

Lab Attendance Marks

90%+         = 6 marks (record and attendance)
81%-90%   = 5 marks
71%-80%   = 4 marks
41%-70%   = 3 marks
<40%         = 0 marks

Each college has been advised to notify all their students about these details.

COMEDK Time Table ,Exam Dates ,Fee Structure

COMEDK Time Table , Exam Dates ,Fee Structure

The COMEDK examination for the year 2014 will be the only entrance examination that a student in Karnataka would need to write to get into any private college in Karnataka. The private colleges procure the top preference among the students.

The COMEDK examination will be held on 11th of May, 2014 .

The COMEDK examination can be written by any individual across India by coming here to Karnataka in the month of May, 2014. The COMEDK examinations doesn’t have reservation of seats based on categories of religion and therefore the seats will be completely distributed based on merit and nothing else.

We also predict that the college fee for admissions to these colleges will start to remain stable instead of increasing 5% (which happens every year). The top colleges like RV College of Engineering and PESIT are private institutes but the if we have noticed correctly we would be able to observe that the 3rd most preferred college BMSCE also has 60 seats for each of 5 branches i.e. Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ind. Engg. Mgmt. .Which means all the students who write the CET would BMS College of Engineering as their top preference.

The fee structure for the COMEDK examination and the Exam time table will be posted here as soon as the details are released. As for now we can only confirm that the COMEDK examination will be held on 11th May, 2014, so note your calendars. Subscribe to this website to keep yourself updated.

CET 2014 is only for Government and Aided colleges

CET 2014 is only for Government and Aided colleges

Recently the KEA has announced that CET examination will be held for admission only to the government aided colleges in Karnataka. For the year 2014, there isn’t going to be a CET examination for any of the private colleges. Instead they would have to write the COMEDK examination.

Private colleges will have admissions from National examinations such as NEET and ISEET in he near future.

While, this change isn’t what some people are pleased about, it still was very well expected.  Eventually after another decade or so there will be only one single examination for admission to absolutely any engineering or medical college in India (Just like the SAT examinations in the UK). But with the rise of number of deemed universities, you will also see dedicated examinations for their respective colleges. For instance, the second most preferred college PESIT also has plans to turn into a deemed university in the near future.

Should you be worried about this?

If you don’t quite remember, nearly 3 decades ago there wasn’t a CET examination as well. Each college had their own entrance examination in Karnataka. The CET was formed to have a common examination to admissions to these college and those dedicated examinations we’re replaced. Apparently, that turned our pretty well right? So on a national level, its only a matter of time students will get used to it.

List of Government Aided Colleges in Karnataka

Here is the list of all the Government Aided Engineering and Medical Colleges along with their last ranks in CET from last year. Like we said before, we will never stop giving you unseemingly new and useful information. So don’t be afraid to subscribe to us on Facebook and for Email feeds.

How do I get into private college?

Students would have to write the COMEDK examination for admission to these private colleges like R.V College of Engineering and PESIT etc. The scams such as fake reservation category certificates and seat blocking are expected to vanish by this move since only students who can afford to get into a private college would do so. Other students would end up getting into a regular government owned or aided college.

So now there is no difference between schools and colleges and universities. Its back to private and government education.

Since all the admissions to private institutions will be from COMEDK it is expected that the fee for the COMEDK examination would remain stable and not increase by 8% as it usually does.
